Where does the name Ethno Intelligence come from?
Etno Inteligencia comes from the idea and philosophy that the Earth (or, Nature) is an intelligent and wise being, capable of creating life (flora and fauna), adapting, regulating, and surviving. This is also true for ancestral cultures. In Peru, there are over 50 recognized indigenous communities that possess an incredible amount of knowledge and wisdom regarding plants, agriculture, and various worldviews acquired over hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Our goal is to spread awareness and honor this sacred connection
Why use basil?
During our research in libraries and in the field, we have discovered several varieties of basil that are used in some communities in different parts of the country, in addition to their well-known culinary use worldwide. It was part of the local pharmacopeia. It has diverse applications that we consider very useful for humanity. There are more than 100 varieties of basil in the world.
What are the benefits of basil tea?
Basil is known for its digestive, antispasmodic, stomachic, aromatic, anti-aging, calming properties and more depending on the variety and its origin.
Why is Peruvian cocoa so special?
According to the latest scientific research on the origins of cocoa, it is estimated that 60% of the genetic heritage of cocoa comes from Peru. This confirms the millennia-old domestication of cocoa by ancient cultures and the wide range of flavors that our cocoa offers.
Are the products organically certified, or organic?
We do not have official organic certification. As of today, we do not have any organically certified products done by third-party institutions. The reality is that we are a small company that works with small producers, and these certifications are either too expensive or out of our reach, but we plan to implement them in the next two years. However, we carefully inspect the origin of each ingredient and conduct field inspections several times. For example, some of our cocoa beans and unrefined cane sugar are organically certified. Our plants are hand-picked from the orchards of our communities. We work with the highest quality products
Do you have vegan products?
Our chocolates and herbal tea products do not contain any animal-derived ingredients.
Do you ship worldwide?
For international orders, we currently only ship to the United States, Canada, E.U., Uruguay, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, Brazil, Colombia, and Ecuador. If you wish to receive your order in another country outside of Peru, please contact us directly via Whatsapp or by email at hola@etnointeligencia.shop.
Orders are processed within 48 to 72 hours after confirmation, as we need to finalize all shipping and customs documentation before your order leaves our warehouse. We will contact you to confirm that all shipping details are correct before sending it to your address.
We work with an external shipping company, SERPOST in Peru, which can deliver to any address worldwide within 10 to 25 days.

Are your packages environmentally friendly?
We strive to select and develop our packaging with material composition and origin in mind. We have even created, together with some suppliers, packaging that had never been manufactured in Peru before. For example, in the case of the Trio Albahaca Amazonica, the tape that wraps the infusion bags is made of recycled paper with a 100% natural ink made naturally with achiote (Annatto).
