Dragon's blood - Pure Resin 10ml

Dragon's blood - Pure Resin 10ml

Pure and sustainable resin extracted by hand from trees planted at the Camino Verde Reforestation Center in Madre de Dios. An essential product for your ethno-medicine cabinet. In our opinion, one of the most potent and healing resin on the planet.

An ancestral tree

Dragon's blood resin (Sangre de Grado in spanish) is one of the most important plants in traditional Peruvian medicine. This tree grows between 12 and 20 m in height (30/65 feet) and is endemic to several areas of the Amazon ecosystem. This natural medicine has been used for several centuries and we have numerous written references from the past:

  • The Florentine Codex (1552)

Sahagún was a careful observer of the culture and traditional medicine of the Aztecs and other indigenous peoples of Mexico. In his codex, he describes the use of Sangre de Grado (which he calls "Croton") in traditional Mexican medicine to treat wounds, ulcers, and digestive problems. Was there trade and exchange between cultures in Mexico and Peru?

  • The Natural and Moral History of the Indies by José de Acosta (1590)

The Natural and Moral History of the Indies is a work written by José de Acosta, a Spanish Jesuit who traveled to Latin America in the 16th century. Acosta also mentions that Sangre de Grado is used in traditional Peruvian medicine to treat digestive problems, such as diarrhea and stomach pain. He describes the plant as a "very good medicine" that is used to treat a variety of conditions.
